Rashid has volunteered for Georgetown University in several capacities over the years, from serving as Acting Chairman of the African American Alumni Advisory Board to volunteering as a guest host and judge for the GU Step Team’s annual step show.

Additionally, Rashid was awarded a Vision of Excellence Award in 2001 and an Alumni Vision of Excellence Award in 2007 from the Georgetown Black Student Alliance.
