Rashid Darden was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., through the Mu Lambda Chapter in Washington, DC, in Spring 2003.  By the winter, he was named Neophyte of the Year.

In 2009, he was the founding chairman of the fraternity’s National Arts & Humanities Council.  In 2013, he was named Greek Tweak’s Greek Man of the Year for his achievements and advocacy across fraternal organizations.

He has served as voting delegate, webmaster, newsletter editor, and now serves as recording secretary of Mu Lambda Chapter in Washington, DC.
